Nov 2012  -  Juvenile cube box fish in Biyadhoo's house reef Back to the list

This cute juvenile Cube  Boxfish can be found on beautiful Biyadoo House Reef.

Adults can grow up to 45cm., however this juvenile female is only few centimeters long. Cube Boxfishes are solitary species, and they always seek shelter under overhangs in the reef. Very bright yellow coloration makes them fairly easy to spot, but they seem to be so ‘shy’.

So such a good photo can be a challenge for patient photographers, although very rewarding.
