Friday the 20th of November 2009 we left Dhuni Kolhu for a morning two tank excursion.
First Dive scheduled to take place in Maavaaru Kandu, a channel in the atoll's North
West known for huge, beautiful overhangs covered with soft corals in splendid colours.
A dream in white, blue, pink and yellow... but all this could not beat the thrill
of spotting a 6 meter long humpback whale twice during our dive.
It is extremely
rare to meet one of those fascinating creatures in Maldives and very much unlikely
to see one during a dive! Luckily our diver Torsten was not only stunned and excited
as all the rest of us was but managed to shoot a few photos and provide proof of
our encounter! Thank you very much!
