Dear Divers,

As the ministry of 'tourism and fishery' opens its official 'SHARK WATCH' program, Dive Ocean Bodu Hithi has already enroll into it and ready to kick off.

The program consist of 2 phases, during the 1st one, all participating diving centers will collect data on sharks observed during a number of different dives in different sites with different conditions, by diving personnel.

During phase 2, a team of marine biologists will start a more in-depth scientific investigation with the purpose to have a more precise view of which species are to be found, where and how frequently.
This is the first program of its kind in the Maldives and we are pleased to see the country so environmentally proactive and focused on the preservation of the species.
